Mesotherapy is a procedure that is a very effective alternative to microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion sloughs off 20% of dead skin cells, buy mesotherapy takes 75% of the outer layer of the skin. It will repair very superficial injuries to the skin in a controlled way.

Mesotherapy also acts as an aid in accelerating the effects of skincare products. It stimulates

epidermal growth and is a much deeper exfoliation than a traditional scrub or micro facial. This treatment requires less downtime than micro-needling.

Mesotherapy is safe to perform on all skin types.

Initially, your skin care professional will apply topical lidocaine to numb the skin and ensure a comfortable and pain-free treatment. Then, a thin layer of topical gel is applied and the pen is gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

Mesotherapy can be done more often (monthly) and can be used in conjunction with facial treatments and products for better penetration.

Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year, to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

It’s useful for skin scarring issues from injuries or acne, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. It also helps shrink pores and tightens the skin. It’s practically like reverse aging. Everything simply looks smoother, firmer, and younger afterwards.

Microneedling can be used on all parts of the body, including the face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have ever had a cold sore you need to get your doctor to prescribe you an antiviral medication. 

Because tattooing causes trauma to the lip you will most likely get a bad outbreak if you have the virus anywhere in your body.

This reaction can be quite severe if the proper precautions are not taken. Do not risk not getting a prescription if you even suspect you have ever had a cold sore in the past.

You just need to take the medication on the day of the procedure and for 3 days after. Keep in mind that you will return for a touch-up in 8 weeks and will be required to take the medication then, as well.

If you have NOT had a cold sore outbreak, please take L-Lysine leading up to your appointment ( it is an amino acid that helps boost immunity and aid in healing). Always consult a healthcare professional prior to taking any medicine. This product is available at many health stores, supplement stores, and London Drugs.

According to a study, our pain threshold is lower four days prior to and after your period. Please take note of this when you are booking your appointment.

If needed. get a prescription for Valtrex or start taking L-Lysine 10 days- 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Continue to take L-Lysine a few weeks after, as well. Lightly exfoliate lips a few days before service with a light sugar scrub.

If you have a certain colour in mind, please bring photos or your own lipstick that we can use as a guide.

Contraindications for Lip Tattoo:

We do not recommend carrying out the procedure in the presence of skin diseases (eg. active herpes outbreak). People suffering from a tendency to form keloids, bleeding disorders, and uncontrolled diabetes, should avoid lip tattooing.

You are not a good candidate for service if you have naturally dark pigmented lips ( brown in colour as a whole or blotches of brown), or a tendency for hyper & hypo pigmentation.

***NOTE: pregnant or breast-feeding women should avoid lip tattooing.

First Week: 

It’s important to try to keep the tattoo dry during the healing process (5-7 days). Even though it is unlikely that the tattoo will remain dry for the entirety of the healing process, refrain from swimming or submerging the area in water for long periods of time, for the first week of healing. Following this makeup tattoo aftercare procedure will ensure the formation of thin scabs, which will result in more colour retention. Keep out of the sun for 7 days after you get your tattoo. 

● FOR LIPS ONLY: Use Aquaphor to keep the tattoo protected while it heals and to soothe any discomfort such as itching or dryness. Avoid applying lip balms, lipstick, or other lip products during this time.

Apply Aquaphor every 30-60 minutes for the first week to keep lips from drying out.   

 ● AVOID touching any tattooed area with your hands. Apply all recommended products with  Q-tips ONLY. If the area must be touched with hands, make sure you thoroughly wash your hands before and after touching the tattooed area.  

● Day 3-4: When the scab starts to appear, do not wipe- only dab until dry; you must be gentle!  Do not pull off the scabs prematurely.  

 ● Week 2 or 3: After the procedure is completely healed, you may go back to your regular cleansing and makeup routine. Avoid scrubbing the area. Use sunblock after the procedure area is healed to protect from sun fading.  

DO NOT:  Scrub, rub, or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed before it is ready, the pigment underneath it can be pulled out.  

DO NOT:

● Use any makeup on the tattooed area for at least 14 days.  

● Use any Retin-A, Glycol Acids, or Neosporin in the tattooed area during or after healing. 

● Expose the area to sun or tanning beds.  

● Swim in a pool for 14 days after your procedure. 

Mild swelling, itching, light scabbing, light brushing and dry tightness is normal after this procedure. Ice packs are a nice relief for swelling and bruising. Aftercare ointments work well for scabbing and tightness.  

●Too dark and slightly uneven appearance. After 2-7 days the darkness will fade, and once any swelling dissipates, unevenness usually disappears. Adjustments will be made during the touch-up appointment. 

● Colour change or colour loss. As the procedure area heals, the colour will lighten and sometimes seem to disappear in places. This can be addressed during the touch-up appointment, which is why touch-up appointments are necessary. The procedure area has to heal completely before we can address any concerns. Healing takes about 4 weeks.  

An email photo consultation (or in person consultation) may be necessary to determine if you need a touch-up or a repeat of the entire procedure.  

ATTENTION:  If the skin around the tattooed area breaks into a heat rash, or small pimples, this is usually a reaction to  the numbing solution and should go away on its own in a couple of weeks.

Please do not pick at it! Call immediately if this occurs so a technician can make a note of the reaction and follow up to ensure this is not a more serious situation!  

Pain: There is a possibility of pain or discomfort, even after a topical anesthetic has been used.

Infection: Although rare, there is a risk of infection. Areas treated must be kept clean.

Uneven Pigmentation: This can result from poor healing, infection or other causes beyond U GLAM BEAUTY and SWITZEL OLIVER's control.

Asymmetry: Every effort is taken to avoid asymmetry but our faces are not symmetrical so

adjustments may be needed at the mandatory 6-8 week touch-up.

Allergic Reaction: There is always a possibility of an allergic reaction to the pigment, blade

or anesthetic used. You may take a 24-hour patch test to determine any sensitivities, prior to treatment.

Unpleasant Results: Tattooing is permanent and choosing to have it removed can be costly and cause scarring.

Infection: If you ever suspect signs of infection, seek medical attention immediately.

Lash extensions are an advanced technique that enhances the curliness, fullness, and thickness of the natural eyelashes. The lash extensions will be bonded to a single natural lash to create a beautiful look. There are many different types of eyelash extensions styles like the classic set, volume set, cat eye lash style  and hybrid lash set.

Prior to your appointment, try your best to arrive without any eye makeup. Do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and the day of your appointment. This will help minimize the clean-up time and add more time for lashing.

When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lash. Certified lash artists will apply to only one natural lash, and will apply an extension that is the appropriate weight and length to ensure the integrity of your natural lash.  

Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your lash artist is not using proper techniques. Lashes that are too heavy or clusters have a larger amount of adhesive and can cause your natural lash to break. At U Glam Beauty, our expertise in eyelash extensions means that you and your eyelashes will be well taken care of.

• Do not get your lashes wet for at least 24 hours after application
• Do not go tanning for 24 hours after application
• Use an oil-free eye makeup remover
• Try not to run water directly on your lashes
• Do not rub, pick or pull your eyes
• If using mascara, use water-based formulas
• When applying mascara avoid the root area.
• Avoid using an eyelash curler
• Try to avoid exposure to heat, steam, sauna and friction
• Avoid receiving treatments like eyelash tinting or perming
• Avoid receiving irritating eye-area treatments, such as strong chemical peels, skin resurfacing procedures, eyebrow waxing or laser treatments

The eyelash extensions are going to last you anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks with proper care.

Some factors affect the longevity of the lash extensions. Such as the amount of humidity in your area, steaming, rubbing, sleeping on one side. Resting on your face, touching them too much or using oil-based makeup remover pads also affect the lifetime of your eyelash extensions.

To maintain a full look for an extended period; you should get the refills done after every 2-3 weeks.

You most definitely can wear make-up with your eyelash extensions.  When selecting makeup, it is beneficial to go with extension-safe makeup. Extension-safe makeup is oil-free, usually contains sealers to prolong extension life, and helps to work adjacent with your extensions for an optimal look.  

If you use regular make-up, it is recommended to use a daily cleanser with make-up remover that is safe for your lashes. To remove residue at the end of the day, make sure the products you are using on your eye area are oil-free. Don’t forget to wash your lashes with lash shampoo.
